CARAA has initiated a new research project with the Corbusier Foundation. This project focuses on the physico-chemical analysis of materials used by Le Corbusier (Charles-Édouard Jeanneret).
The study covers the architectural paintings of several works in France and Switzerland, furniture, paintings on canvas and sculptures, as well as the materials found in his workshop (paints, brushes, palettes, buckets, wallpaper etc..).
This study complements numerous analyzes already carried out for more than 10 years and will be published at the end of the project. We already find the case study of the restoration of the apartment in the Molitor building (2014-2108) in a chapter of the Royal Society of Chemistry dedicated to pigments and dyes.
In video, the restioration of the appartment from 24 rue Nungesser-et-Coli in Paris (extract below).
